Our Screen, TV & Stage group is a weekly interdisciplinary writing workshop and critique group for screenwriters, playwrights & TV writers. We all need someone outside the world we've created to look at our work and be sure others will see on the page what we see in our heads before we submit to contests, agents, and producers.
Discipline.
Writers are prolific in our minds, and with friends. However, when it comes to actual writing, we are one lazy bunch. A writing group is like a literary chain gang, forcing each member to stay writing to have something to submit when it's his or her turn to be critiqued.
Competition.
Seeing the person next to you turning in ten great pages make you want to do the same. You feel that if the person sitting next to you can write that well, so can you, with a little work.
